Description
Asplenium wildii is a fern. The root system is short, creeping and scaly. The frond stalk and midrib are mostly dark brown and become green near the tip. The frond blade is egg-shaped in outline, thin, hairless (or with few hairs), 4-9 cm long by 2.5-4 cm wide and divided into segments. The segments are in 5-8 pairs, the basal ones are ovate and the others oblong in shape. The segment tips are pointed and the margins are bluntly and irregularly serrated. The longest segment (below the middle) is 14-25 mm long, gradually decreasing in size toward the tip of the frond. Spore clusters are up to 5 mm long. A. wildii is similar to A. unilaterale, which has 14-22 pairs of segments. (Brownsey 1998)
